This is the illustration I did for ILLUSTRATORS DEATHMATCH 2013 contest a week ago. Illustrators Deathmatch is an illustration congress held once a year in the city of Queretaro (Mexico) which reunites artists from all the country and beyond. The event was the most inspiring and exciting thing I've been to! Carlos Villa, Sergi Brosa, Sakiroo Choi, Tiago Hoistel and Artgerm were invited as speakers for the event. Their talks really opened my eyes. I'm feeling more free when drawing for myself (artsy point of view) and motivated to keep improving as an artist to score a life in the industry (mercenary point of view, haha).

I tried to include a bit of everything I learned from the speakers in this illustration, while making it visual representation about what it felt being over there... I didn't win, of course, the competition was against mindblowing artists! But I sure enjoyed drawing this and several people around really seemed to like it... that's more than I was expecting. Anyway, next year I'll have my rematch! Time to improve for it!</p>
